Position : Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer (Design Focus)
Location : La Marque, TX Type : Full-time and Exempt
Job Summary :
The Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer will support the design and development of rotating equipment components under senior guidance, gaining hands-on experience in CAD modeling, prototyping, and quality assurance to build expertise in the rotating equipment industry.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Duties / Responsibilities :
Assist in designing mechanical components for rotating equipment using CAD software to create sketches, layouts, and detailed drawings.Support development of manufacturing prints, including dimensioning, tolerances, and specifications for parts and prototypes.Conduct routine tests on models and equipment, analyze data, and recommend design improvements for efficiency and quality.Collaborate with design teams, machine shop coordinators, and shop personnel to ensure designs align with production needs.Identify process improvements, maintain quality control records, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.Perform entry-level tasks such as material analysis, cost estimation, and basic inspections using precision tools.Uphold health, safety, and company protocols in shop and office environments.Other duties as assigned.Skills and Experience :
Required-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on mechanical design principles.Proficient in CAD software (e.g., 2D drafting and 3D solid modeling); basic knowledge of machining operations preferred.Preferred experience in mechanical repairs in pumps, steam turbines, gear boxes, etc.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration.Detail-oriented with organizational skills to manage project files and deadlines.Tech-savvy with proficiency in MS Office; adaptability to tools like 3D scanning is a plus.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning in a dynamic setting.Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; internship or 0-2 years of related experience preferred.Familiarity with quality assurance plans and basic engineering databases desired.Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Shop-based tasks including extended standing, accessing machinery, and lifting up to 50 pounds.Flexibility for working weekends and occasional travel to job sites.Perks and Benefits :
