  • Flexible scheduling\n\nJob Description\n\nEssential Functions : \nUtilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions : \n
  • Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the Healthcare consumer's health and / or the situation.\n
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or the issues.\n
  • Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the Healthcare consumer of the situation.\n
  • Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.\n
  • Implements the identified plan. Ensures patient progression along plan.\n
  • Coordination of Care – coordinates care delivery.\n
  • Health Teaching and Health Promotion – employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.\n
  • Consultation – the advanced practice registered nurse and the nursing role specialist provide consultation to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others and effect change.\n
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.\n\nFollows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010) : \n
  • Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice\n
  • Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice\n
  • Evaluates one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations\n
  • Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues\n
  • Collaborates with patient, family and others in the conduct of nursing practice\n
  • Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice\n
  • Integrates research findings into practice\n
  • Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing services\n
  • Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession\n

  • Practices within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by the state in which employment occurs and delivers competent care consistent with standards / policies, laws, regulators / accreditation / certifying organizations.\n
  • Abides by the Provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).\n\nProficiently uses applicable technology and software to : \n
  • Support and document nursing activities and patient care.\n
  • Access other work-related applications necessary to be an engaged and active associate of the organization, such as company email, iLearn modules, employee engagement surveys, benefits and compensation information, and policies and procedures.\n
  • Continuously seeks out opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem solving.\n
  • All other duties as assigned.\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\nRequired : \nEducation - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing\nCertifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing\n\nRegarding BLS certification : The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer / hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.\nPreferred : \nExperience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience\nEducation - Bachelors degree in Nursing\nPhysical Requirements : Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and / or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and / or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and / or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
