Join a leading designer and manufacturer of military and defense components at our thriving facility in Sterling Heights, MI. As a Mechanical Systems Assembler, you will turn precise engineering drawings into high‑reliability components that support critical missions.

What a day looks like

You clock in at 6 : 00 am, review the latest build package, and lay out parts and tools. You read blueprints and prints to confirm dimensions, assemble mechanical components to exacting tolerances, and follow documented quality and safety procedures. After assembly, you complete required records, perform functional tests per customer specifications and company procedures, and collaborate with your team to meet schedule and quality goals.

Your impact

  • Assemble products and fabricate mechanical components according to engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Adhere to workmanship standards, process certifications, and all safety regulations.
  • Complete, review, and maintain accurate build and test documentation.
  • Test completed units to customer specifications using company procedures.
  • Support additional tasks and related duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Comfort with basic hand and power tools, torque wrenches, and measurement equipment.
  • Steel or composite‑toe leather safety boots.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Core strengths

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and general troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and apply shop math.
  • Maintenance and repair aptitude; strong mechanical assembly capability.
  • Clear, professional communication.
  • Blueprint reading proficiency.
  • Physical demands

    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regular standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. Frequent repetitive motions, bending, stooping, squatting, and pushing / pulling of parts and containers may be required.

    Schedule

    6 : 00 am – 2 : 30 / 4 : 30 pm, with overtime as required.
