Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support production, strengthen our quality management system, and ensure compliance with customer and industry standards. This role is hands-on — working closely with operators, engineers, and management — to drive root cause analysis, reduce scrap, improve inspection methods, and support both internal and external quality requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for continuous improvement, working proactively to refine and enhance quality processes to minimize scrap, reduce costs, and improve overall quality.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Process Quality
Support production teams with inspection methods, gaging, and interpretation of specifications.Review and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs), PPAPs, and customer-required certifications.Investigate nonconformance and lead root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions.Partner with operators and engineers to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.Quality Systems & Compliance
Support compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ITAR, and customer-specific requirements.Participate in internal and external audits.Maintain calibration and gage control systems.Assist with documentation, process control, and training compliance.Vendor Quality
Work with Supply Chain and Production to address supplier nonconformance and corrective actions.Support supplier qualification, monitoring, and reporting of vendor quality performance.Participate in supplier audits or visits as needed.Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline quality processes and inspection methods.Encourage operator involvement in quality and improvement initiatives.Share data and metrics with leadership to drive better decision-making.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years in quality engineering or manufacturing environment (precision machining / aerospace / medical preferred).Strong knowledge of GD&T, metrology, and precision inspection equipment (CMM, optical comparators, micrometers, etc.).Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ITAR requirements.Problem-solving mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.What We Offer
