No two days are the same! Crofton is seeking a Laborer to join our team.

The ideal Laborer will operate as part of a team of two or more individuals on jobsites assigned. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment onsite as well as assisting other members of the team as needed in the completion of construction projects. Under the guidance of experienced team members, this position may be required to perform basic construction tasks (ie hammering, cutting, measuring, loading, unloading, etc.).

General Responsibilities :

  • Loading and unloading materials
  • Maintaining a clean and safe jobsite
  • Preparing construction includes cleaning, removing safety hazards, erecting scaffolding, etc.
  • Assist other members of the crew as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Ability to take direction.
  • General understanding of construction
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.

    • Education and Experience :

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 0-1 years prior experience
  • Experience with heavy machinery and power tools

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
  • Exposure to construction and marine site dangers.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and / or fingers.
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • Ability to respond quickly to sounds and handle noisy environments.
  • Able to traverse all areas of the job-site in all types of weather; this may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
