Overview
Area Manager, Health Information Management at MRO. The Manager is responsible for managing the daily scheduling of approximately 8-20+ ROI Specialists to ensure facilities have sufficient coverage. The Manager acts as the liaison between MRO and client management staff to ensure that all ROI activities are compliant with established clinic policies, federal and state regulations, and completed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Manage workflow among on-site employees to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards are met. Adjust work assignments as needed to cover peak periods, leave and vacancies. Prioritize work to ensure completion of ROI function.
- Adjust work assignments as needed to cover peak periods and vacancies at staffed hospital sites.
- Provide coverage in the event of backlogs, illness, vacation, or leave of absence of medical record staff.
- Perform Quality Assurance monitoring of work performance for ROI Specialists.
- Conduct productivity and work performance reviews for ROI Specialists in accordance with MRO / customer policies and procedures and Federal / State law.
- Monitor performance and provide performance feedback and evaluations for ROI Specialists. Monitor and approve paid time off and schedules for all staff.
- Promote a positive image of MRO with emphasis on customer service; treat patients, co-workers, and medical center personnel with courtesy and respect; respond to customer needs in a positive and efficient manner.
Skills & Experience
High School Diploma / GED required.Bachelor's and / or Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration or health-related field or equivalent experience preferred.1 year supervisory / management experience in an acute care setting.Knowledge of HIPAA privacy information standards required.Excellence in written communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications required.Ability to travel 50%.Physical Requirements
