Position Summary :
The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for tracking and managing inventory in a warehouse or storage facility. This role involves performing regular counts, updating inventory records, and assisting with stocking and organization to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintaining accurate inventory records : This includes receiving, counting, and recording incoming and outgoing products and materials.
- Auditing loads : This involves inspecting and verifying the accuracy of the information on incoming and outgoing shipments, including the quantity, quality, and condition of the products.
- Investigating and reporting damage : The inventory clerk is responsible for identifying and reporting any damage to products or materials and working with the appropriate parties to resolve the issue.
- Keeping track of stock levels : This includes monitoring inventory levels, identifying discrepancies and reporting them, and reordering products as necessary.
- Operating equipment : This includes the use of hand-held scanners, forklifts and other equipment as needed to complete the tasks.
- Communicating with other departments : This can include working with the purchasing department to ensure that inventory levels are maintained, and with the shipping and receiving department to ensure that products are shipped and received correctly.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures : This includes following all company policies and procedures related to inventory management and load auditing.
- Keeping up with the inventory management software : This includes inputting data, running reports and making sure the system is up to date.
- Participating in physical inventory count : This includes counting and verifying the accuracy of the inventory on hand.
- Proactively works to assist others in achieving the organization’s objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in inventory or warehouse work preferred.Basic math skills and attention to detail.Familiarity with inventory software is a plus.Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.Physical Demands :
Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.Lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs. may be required.Work Environment :
Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.Requires adherence to safety standards and use of protective equipment when needed.ravel Requirements :
Minimal travel is required, though occasional travel to off-site warehouses or facilities may be needed.Equipment Used :
Standard warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and occasionally forklifts.Barcode scanners and inventory management software for tracking and updating inventory records.Computer equipment and Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.Supervisory Responsibilities :
