Position Summary
The OB / GYN is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care related to pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s reproductive health, while also offering general preventive and primary care to women. This role includes conducting physical assessments, performing surgeries as needed, managing prenatal and postnatal care, and maintaining full clinical documentation in accordance with medical staff bylaws and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete medical histories and physical assessments as appropriate
- Provide care throughout prenatal, pregnancy, labor / delivery, and postpartum periods
- Perform Caesarean sections and other surgical procedures as clinically indicated
- Explain diagnostic tests, treatment options, and procedures to patients; ensure appropriate follow-up and education
- Make referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers as needed
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical documentation in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and medical staff responsibilities
- Share in the on-call coverage schedule as directed by the OB / GYN Director
- Comply fully with the organization’s compliance program, including standards of conduct, policies, and procedures
Education & Experience Requirements
Current, unrestricted New York State medical licenseBoard-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and GynecologyEligible for appointment / reappointment to the organization’s medical staffStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skillsBasic proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical softwareEmail : Baila@maiplacement.com
