Avondale House is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency that provides educational services to individuals with autism, a day program for adults, where participants receive training in daily living skills and pre-vocational activities and four residential homes for adults unable to live in their own home.
This position will lead and support the enhancement of Avondale House adult programs under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer. Avondale House has been serving individuals with autism since 1976. To learn more please visit our website at : www.avondalehouse.org.

Job Duties :
- Provides effective and inspiring leadership to all of Avondale House programs.
- Implements and leads continuous quality improvement process throughout all programs, focusing on systems, quality of programming, curriculum fidelity, and operational efficiency.
- Creates and works with the development team on innovative marketing techniques in order to promote growth of programs.
- Networks within the community in order to secure relationships with community employers to strengthen and grow the employment services program.
- Oversees the full cycle management of clients from intake to ongoing employment support and training.
- Continuously works to grow program census with the goal of having programs running at capacity.
- Ensures all aspects of program development, implementation, and monitoring are in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Ensures the rights of the individuals participating in our programs are maintained at all times.
- Ensures job orientation and in-service training to all administrative, professional, and direct service staff that is focused on the development, behavioral, and health needs of our clients.
- When necessary, participates in the development of Plans of Correction
- Ensures that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of Avondale House.
- Prepares and submits an annual operational budget to the COO and CEO for approval, and manages effectively within this budget, and reports accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
- Partners with COO and CEO to represent Avondale House within external constituencies groups, including community, governmental, and private organizations.
- Provides programmatic leadership and input for all strategic planning processes with the CEO, COO, and staff.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education.At least 10 years of professional experience overall, with a minimum of 5 years of senior-leadership experience leading seasoned staff, operating multiple human services programs across a broad geography.At least 15 years of experience in providing supported employment services for individuals with autism or IDD is required.Must have proven track record of growing programs, specifically, employment services and day programsMust have strong working knowledge of Texas Workforce Commission rules and regulations as well as protocols and processes for contracted providers as it relates to Employment ServicesUNTWISE Director credential is required, credentials in Job Skills Training, Job Placement, Supported Employment and Work Readiness is also strongly preferred.Excellent communication and presentation skillsSelf-motivated with a visionary, and entrepreneurial mindset is strongly desiredPhysical / Other Requirements :
Ability to implement CPI, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.Lifting up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time.Valid Texas Driver’s License.Background Check Required
