The posted compensation range of $19.49 - $27.52 / hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) who is passionate about supporting the health and well-being of our patients. In this role, the PCT will perform a variety of patient care tasks including direct care, EKGs, and phlebotomy. Under the supervision of a nurse, the PCT will assist patients with activities of daily living and help ensure they receive high-quality, compassionate care.
Key responsibilities include obtaining and recording vital signs, monitoring daily intake and output, collecting specimens (including blood and non-invasive body fluids), performing EKGs and blood glucose monitoring, and supporting efforts to reduce patient length of stay. This includes using the computerized Bed Tracking System, assisting with discharge procedures, and communicating discharge information to the care team.
The PCT also assists physicians and nurses with diagnostic tests, clinical procedures, and other tasks as needed. They play a critical role in communicating patient needs and reporting changes in condition to the supervising nurse or physician. All patient interactions and care tasks are thoroughly documented in the medical record. In accordance with unit standards, the PCT may also assist with the retrieval and delivery of medications.
Minimum requirements include completion of nursing assistant program, or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program. AZ Certified Nursing Assistant or Licensed Nursing Assistant OR AZ EMT license. American Heart Association BLS.
