z / OS Mainframe Systems Programmer

A company is looking for a z / OS Mainframe Systems Programmer to support a federal program on a fully remote schedule.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide daily systems programming support for IBM z / OS versions 2.5 and 3.1, including installation and configuration of key components

Manage and optimize storage systems and provide operational support for IBM enterprise servers across multiple processor generations

Plan and execute Disaster Recovery exercises, monitor system performance, and collaborate with technical teams for knowledge transfer

Required Qualifications :

Deep expertise in Sysplex, Coupling Facility, JES2, SMP / E, TCP / IP, VTAM, RACF, CICS, USS, and IBM Workload Scheduler

Demonstrated proficiency in performance tuning and resolving complex system issues

Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe hardware spanning z13 through z17 platforms

Strong programming skills in COBOL, Assembler, and REXX

Familiarity with hybrid IT environments and modern DevOps practices as applied to mainframe operations
