Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Richmond, VA 23230

Healthcare Setting : Critical Illness and Rehabilitation Hospital

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Start Date : November 10, 2025

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Hours per Week : 36

Nursing Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts / week)

Open RN Positions : 2

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1740 - $1860 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Virginia or compact state

BLS Certification (required before first shift)

ACLS Certification (required before first shift)

Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing

PCU or Critical Care RN experience highly preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission

Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assess, plan, implement, and evaluate

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record

Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission

Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team for optimal patient safety

Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff

Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and best practices

Participate in team building and foster a positive work environment

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
