Job Description

This position involves working as a railcar repairman, where the individual will perform 60% mechanical work and 40% welding work to repair railcars. The role is physically demanding and involves working in a dirty environment. While flux core welding is preferred, MIG welders can be trained, with a weld test determining training needs.

Responsibilities

• Work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks.
• Coordinate and complete all railcar repairs and maintenance.
• Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints / schematics to perform required repairs.
• Utilize basic mechanical skills and build knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut, and gouge.
• Notify of any materials and / or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks.
• Follow all safety rules, maintain a clean work area, and comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
• Ensure FRA, AAR, and customer quality standards are met.
• Complete any other duties as assigned in order to complete tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 / hr.
