General Technician / Industrial Kitchen TechnicianResponsibilities :Effectively maintain plant equipment, primarily related to manufacturing kitchen appliances and refrigeration equipment.Learning to balance other distribution center equipment at the FreshDirect Campus.Execute the plant preventive maintenance program.Proficient with conveyor system machinery to support the maintenance team and / or train others as needed.Strong working knowledge of all facets of manufacturing equipment and procedures.3-4 years of repair and maintenance experience in Industrial or commercial kitchens.Technical education related to mechanical engineering or equivalent experience is required.Exceptional ability to work independently without direct supervision and takeRead and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.Working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits.Mechanical experience with varied kitchen, refrigeration, and distribution center machinery is desired.OSHA safety certification is a PLUS.Must be able to lift 50 pounds.In a workday : standing / walking 8-12 hoursAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Hand use : single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.Work requires the following motions : bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.Constant exposure to temperatures : <-10 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators)Rotating Schedule :Job Type : Full-time
