Waste Management (WM), a Fortune 250 company, is the leading provider of comprehensive waste and environmental services in North America. This role applies advanced principles of finance to analyze financial and non-financial information and support the field finance organization. The analyst will be assigned to support projects and assignments across a variety of finance functions. Role is hybrid, but WM candidates will be able to work at their current WM site or if currently remote, may work at the closest WM location.
Essential duties and responsibilities include : monitoring highly advanced key financial performance measures, preparing, analyzing and interpreting complex financial and non-financial information, participating in budget goals, cost reduction efforts, corporate initiatives, and other identified opportunities for improvement, contributing to key project planning and implementation, assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, facilitating communication between the field finance and operations functions and corporate finance, and performing highly advanced financial projects on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or similar, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or GED and four years of relevant work experience. Five years of previous experience is also required. Strong understanding of the financial reporting cycle, best practices, and data flow among financial systems is necessary, along with strong presentation and communication skills. Expertise in business analysis tools including advanced Excel skills, Microsoft Office Suite, and planning systems is required. Ability to perform well under pressure and in a high-volume and changing environment is also necessary.
The work environment is a normal office setting. This role is open to multiple locations but must sit in a location with a WM office. The expected base pay range for this position is $84,300 - $143,770.
