Job descriptionPosition is in the Labor & Delivery unit with 8 beds Care for laboring, postpartum, antepartum patients, newborns, and infants less than 28 days old Level 2A Nursery with responsibility for sick babies Patient ratios are 1 : 2 for laboring and 1 : 3-4 for couplets Some involvement with gyn-surgical and mastectomy post-op cases is preferred 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required Uses Epic for charting Floating required to Med / Surg as CNA help and within scope of practice LOC call per census and LOC rotation schedule Holiday coverage includes 3 holidays scheduled and 1 on-call, on a rotating basis Hospital provided scrubs Primary responsibilities include comprehensive care for L&D, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn patients First-time travelers are accepted with adequate L&D experience Support available from a charge nurse, 24 / 7 lab, respiratory therapy, and in-house hospitalist Orientation length is typically one week, tailored to the traveler’s experience Permanent staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler Free parking is available onsite Time-off requests require submission before the next schedule is posted, with two approved gold tickets per year Active SD or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required Completion of an approved nursing education program Minimum 1 year of recent L&D nursing experience required for travelers Experience and competency in EFM interpretation and intervention, adult and neonatal assessment skills required Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
