A Shop Coatings Operations Manager oversees coating and painting operations, managing staff, production schedules, quality control, safety compliance, and supplies to ensure efficient, high-quality job completion on time and within budget.

Essential Functions

• Manage daily coating / painting operations, ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Supervise and coordinate staff, including scheduling, training, evaluating performance, and enforcing safety protocols.
• Develop and implement production plans aligned with customer demands and company goals.
• Maintain and repair coating / painting equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Monitor inventory, including ordering paint, materials, and supplies while controlling costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to coatings and painting processes.
• Conduct quality inspections of finished products to detect defects and ensure adherence to standards.
• Communicate with clients (internal and external), suppliers, and other departments to coordinate workflows, resolve issues, and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Manage budgeting, cost control, and reporting related to operations and labor.
