Associate Principal - Structural Engineering

Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Associate Principal to join our Los Angeles headquarters. This senior role offers the opportunity to lead large-scale structural projects, mentor future leaders, and drive business development for a respected engineering firm.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and manage complex structural engineering projects from design to completion

Provide technical expertise in Type I steel and concrete structural systems

Oversee and mentor teams of engineers and BIM designers

Conduct seismic evaluations and retrofit designs (ASCE 41)

Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants for innovative solutions

Develop and maintain client relationships, driving new business opportunities

Act as a decisive leader and mentor within the firm

Qualifications :

Masters degree in Structural Engineering (from a U.S. university)

Active Structural Engineer (SE) license (required)

Minimum 12 years of structural design experience

Strong expertise in large-scale Type I construction projects

Proven leadership and business development success

Preferred :

Seismic retrofit (ASCE 41) experience

Experience with DSA and HCAI / OSHPD projects

Specialized expertise in commercial, healthcare, aviation, or institutional sectors
