Summary About the Position: Serves as Public Affairs Specialist for the Commanding General (CG) for the U.S. Army Center for Initial Military Training (USACIMT), a core function lead in TRADOC. The purpose of the work is to plan, develop, implement, and assess an effective communication program in support of the commander's communication objectives. Responsibilities Responsible for researching, developing, coordinating, and evaluating Public Affairs strategies that support the command's communication objectives. Conducts research required for development of communication plans through analysis of the information environment, including public opinion and information needs assessments, media content analysis, and impact assessments. Research, develop and produce informational media materials designed to further public understanding of CIMT and its subordinate organizations. Plans, develops, and implements public affairs Visual Information to support IMT missions, programs, and initiatives. Produces audio, video, and print news and feature releases in coordination with the Army Training Support Center and EMC. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience researching, developing, implementing, and assessing communication strategies for internal and external audiences; experience developing materials such as news stories, news releases, fact sheets, brochures, and broadcast quality public service announcements, features, and/or segments, photos, essays, video, and other products. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
