Hillside Boutique Hotel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. - Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and portioning.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands and guest expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and cooking to ensure flavor and presentation meet resort standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal menus and specials, providing input on new dishes.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food products and reporting any shortages.
- Support kitchen operations by cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen atmosphere.
Requirements
Education / Formal Training :
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality management preferred.Experience :
Minimum 3-5 years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or Sous Chef roleProven ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff in a high-volume or fine-dining environment.Strong background in kitchen operations, including prep, line execution, plating and service standards.Experience with inventory control, ordering and vendor relationships.Proficiency in maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.Demonstrated skills in menu development, recipe costing and seasonal specials.Ability to collaborate with the Executive Chef and FOH teams.Knowledge / Skills :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Customer-focused mindset with a passion for providing outstanding service.Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately.Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office and reservation software.Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.Requirements :
