Position Summary :

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Optometrist to provide care to the elderly population in Jeffersonville , Indiana . This role is ideal for someone looking to supplement their current schedule and income, while making a meaningful impact on those in need of accessible, on-site vision care.

All administrative and logistical responsibilities—including equipment, supplies, scheduling, and billing—are fully managed by CMC. This is an independent contractor position, allowing you the freedom to focus on clinical care while we handle the rest.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments for elderly patients in long-term care settings.

Diagnose and manage ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

Prescribe corrective lenses and coordinate with care staff to ensure patients receive necessary follow-up.

Educate patients and caregivers about eye health and proper visual aid use.

Ensure a comfortable and respectful environment tailored to the needs of geriatric patients.

Qualifications :

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program.

Active Indiana optometry license.

Experience with geriatric or mobile care is a plus.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Comfortable working independently and in facility-based care environments.

Schedule :

2 to 4 visits per month

Weekday availability required

Typical hours : 8 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM
