Researchers in the division, collaborating with colleagues from throughout Johns Hopkins and across the world, are unraveling the mechanisms of childhood heart disease and developing innovative treatments for these disorders. The Johns Hopkins Hospital strengthened its commitment to pediatric excellence with the opening of The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children\'s Center in 2012, including 205 beds, state-of-the-art cardiac operating rooms, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, cardiac catheterization suites and cardiac imaging facilities, as well as a commitment to building hybrid catheterization facilities with operating room capacity.
