Purpose : You will provide electrical engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the electrical engineering team. The purpose is to manage a team of electrical engineers and designers and oversee their work on oil, gas, and chemical projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of electrical engineers and designers and oversee their work on oil / gas / chemical projects.
- Plan, organize, and direct engineering work, ensuring on-time completion, safety-in-design and quality outcomes from conception to completion.
- Collaborate with project management, clients, and other disciplines to meet project objectives.
- May lead one or more projects while providing guidance for other lead engineers within the program.
- Maintain relationship with project management and client to ensure satisfaction with the quality and progress of the project.
- Communicate effectively (written, emails, verbal) with the team and management; demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills; motivate and foster a positive work environment.
- Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Initiate, manage and if required supervise electrical engineering project requirements.
- Perform electrical engineering services such as : participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
- Ensure the project scope is clear and changes comply with project change management processes.
- Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities (e.g., write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, write purchase orders).
- If required, act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects.
- If responsible for a team : outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, assign tasks and supervise progress; ensure services meet requirements on time and within budget.
- Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering.
- If required, assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.
- Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
What you will bring
Technical / Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements :
Excellent technical and practical engineering skills with ability to deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of electrical engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.Competent use of MS Office and electrical engineering software (ETAP, PSCAD, SPL).Development and design of electrical distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration, interface management.Perform / review power systems studies and protective device settings.Extensive technical and practical experience in electrical engineering within oil and gas, multi-disciplinary projects and teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.8+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.Additional information
This position is in California.Salary Range : $117,160-$172,284Benefits : eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.Location : Los Angeles

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :
Required :
A recognized and relevant BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.Preferred :
Professional Engineer (P.E. or P.Eng) status US / Canada.Experience with MS Office and electrical engineering software (ETAP, PSCAD, SPL).Experience in development, design of electrical distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration.Moving forward together
