This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday, plus overtime when required.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and innovative Quality Manager to join our refrigeration manufacturing team. The role is responsible for overseeing and improving the quality management systems across the plant to ensure product excellence and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies, with proven experience driving product quality enhancements and reducing defects in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain quality standards for all product lines and models.Supervise the full-time Quality Auditor on staff.Develop and maintain audit procedures for key manufacturing processes to assure adherence to quality control standards.Implement an ongoing continuous improvement program for internal and external quality control procedures and processes.Conduct warehouse audits, random sampling of production, and document corrective actions.Create and maintain a quality metrics database for first-time quality, repair and scrap tracking, warehouse containment, re-work activities, and critical component tracking.Maintain hardware, software, and pass / fail criteria for end-of-line quality testing.Perform first-piece sample part inspections (PPAP) for all new sourced components.Maintain an incoming inspection list, conduct random audits of incoming parts, and develop a supplier certificate-of-compliance procedure.Develop and maintain equipment set-up and first-piece verification processes for in-house fabrication equipment.Develop and maintain quality audit standards and test procedures for painted and metal finished components.Review and maintain all work instructions to assure quality standards are achieved.Perform hands-on troubleshooting to resolve problems.Provide overnight production approvals.Supplier qualification and audits.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in quality management, engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, ideally in refrigeration or similar industry.Proven leadership skills with experience managing a quality assurance team.In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management systems and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, etc.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data and findings clearly.Proficiency in quality control software and familiarity with manufacturing operations.Ability to collaborate across teams and departments to foster a continuous improvement mindset.Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.Working Conditions
