Akari is a new Japanese spirits company preparing to launch in just a few months, starting with our flagship Japanese gin and soon followed by a small-batch whiskey. We’re not your typical Japanese spirits brand. While our craftsmanship is world-class, our identity is fun, bold, and eccentric—designed to capture the nostalgic, vibrant energy of Tokyo people dream about. Think : karaoke nights, dancing salarymen, and the cinematic escapism of Lost in Translation .

Our creative direction is uncompromising—we shoot exclusively on film to achieve a timeless, high-fashion aesthetic. Once you see our reels, stills, and content, you’ll understand the beauty and originality we’re bringing to the industry.

The Role

We’re looking for a freelance social media strategist to help us implement and activate our launch strategy. You’ll guide our campaigns, bring our brand voice to life online, and manage our platforms until we transition to a social media intern to manage our handles.

You Are Someone Who :

• Has a strong grasp of strategy and analytics—how to drive organic growth and make content go viral
• Excels in copywriting, with a sharp eye for voice, tone, and visual storytelling
• Knows how to craft content that stops the scroll and sparks conversation
• Is passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and all things social
