Position Title: M365 Security Specialist
Location: Remote

Clearance: IRS MBI Eligible

Role Summary
Provides security engineering, privacy analysis, and cyber compliance across the M365 environment, including Purview, Defender, identity governance, and audit logging.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure Purview data classification, retention, and compliance
• Manage M365 security controls, audit logs, and DLP policies
• Support identity security: Azure AD Conditional Access, MFA, role-based access
• Assist in documenting Security Change Requests and audit artifacts
• Collaborate on Power Platform governance and DLP policies
• Support AvePoint security configurations and tenant restrictions
• Support enterprise data readiness planning and enforcement of Power Platform/M365 data connector governance policies
• Provide security oversight for Microsoft enhancements including Copilot, Loop, and Graph Connectors
• Support security and cyber architecture activities as required by IRS PMO
• Provide security assessments and risk mitigation strategies
• Support transition-in/out documentation

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years M365 security engineering experience
• Strong understanding of Purview, AIP, DLP, retention, and auditing
• Experience with Defender for Cloud, Identity, O365
• Hands-on Azure AD / Entra ID security
• Experience with data readiness planning and data connector security policies
• Working knowledge of Copilot, Loop, and Graph Connector security models
• Experience supporting cyber or security architecture initiatives
• Federal security frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP) experience preferred
• Ability to explain complex security requirements to non-technical teams
