Registered Nurse (RN) - 5 East Medical-Surgical Unit
Location : Lutheran
Opening : January 2026
Shifts Available : Full or Part Time, Days, Nights and WEP options
$10K Sign on Bonus for full time positions
We're excited to announce the opening of 5 East, a brand-new 15-bed medical-surgical unit providing acute care services to inpatients and observation patients. This unit specializes in General Medical / Surgical, Pulmonary, and Medical Detox, and may support patients requiring remote telemetry. Our patient population includes adults, aging adults, and pediatric patients aged 14 and older.
About the Role : As an RN on 5 East, you will provide and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and maintain accurate documentation of patient care. You'll utilize critical thinking to make independent judgments and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, high-quality care.

All newly licensed RNs or RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience and who are interested in this department or any other Acute RN role within UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, are encouraged and required to participate in the RN Residency program.
