Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Communications Specialist 1 opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Location : 100% remote

Summary :

The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, proactive, and a problem-solver, capable of delivering top-level customer service in a fast-paced environment.

• CMS Experience – Wordpress
• Creating, updating, publishing content in internal and external websites
• Will be working on assigned tickets from broken links to more involved content updates

Knowledge and Expertise :

Beginner proficiency in the web communication field. Has a general understanding of written, visual and interactive communication, with a focus on digital communication channels such as web, social media and email. Beginner proficiency in copyediting or web-related writing and various writing styles. Beginner proficiency in visual and interactive design as it relates to digital content creation, and the software used to do so. Ability to translate complex, technical and jargonized content into a format appropriate for the web. Ability to organize content into sitemaps that support campaign and UX objectives. Understanding of digital communication standards, guidelines, and best practices, especially as they relate to UX, SEO and accessibility. Ability to follow standards, best practices and demonstrate good judgment when implementing web content. Provide unparalleled customer service.

Software Knowledge Requirements : Visual design, writing, development candidates will be considered.

Communication : Ability to conceptualize and communicate program requirements and detailed elements to both technical and non-technical personnel. Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal communication. Organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Experience collaborating with developers, designers, and product stakeholders.

Problem-Solving Skills : Able to use problem-solving skills to conduct research, investigate alternative solutions, and recommend solutions to improve services and products. Ability to monitor and maintain web content to ensure that content is accurate, up-to-date, accessible, and free of errors.

Customer Service : Demonstrated experience working with customers in a professional and responsive manner. Ability to meet project deadlines and manage multiple concurrent tasks and competing priorities. Experience working with customers and subject matter experts to achieve project requirements and communication objectives through the creation and implementation of high-quality web content.

Education and Years of Relevant Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications, Web, Design, English, or other relevant degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
