Quality Lead
Prime Beverage Group is looking for a team-oriented and passionate Quality Lead with the ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies. The Quality Lead assists the Quality Supervisor with maintaining and leading the shift’s quality team, including the laboratory technicians and quality technicians. When the Supervisor is out, the Lead assumes the leadership role for the shift. This includes responsibility for sending out shift reports, attending shift handoff meetings, and ensuring food safety and quality protocols are followed on their shift. This is a full-time, hourly position that reports directly to the Quality Supervisor.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of blending process and status of all fillers.
- Minimize downtime and non-conforming product by actively coordinating with Blending and Operations teams, to ensure that in-process liquid is in specification and released to the filler without delay.
- Ensure correct recipe guidelines are followed and specifications for products are met during processing. Ensure the correct materials and lot codes are used for each customer’s specification.
- Perform analytical tests (HPLC, pH, density, brix, carbonation, titrations, dissolved oxygen, etc.).
- Maintain, calibrate, and trouble-shoot instruments.
- Complete daily water quality testing.
- Assist with development and validation of new analytical methods / SOPs.
- Inventory laboratory consumables.
- Participate in finished goods hold / release system.
- Be able to complete all duties of Analytical Lab Technician and Quality Control Technician.
- Cross-trains with Quality Supervisor.
- Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing and Good Laboratory Practices.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
Strong understanding of analytical chemical techniques and methods.Manufacturing experience (Food and Beverage experience preferred).Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work, based on business needs.Demonstrated leadership ability.Ability to organize and coordinate diverse activities.Strong proofreading and written communication skills.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time (walking manufacturing floor, climbing stairs) and able to lift up to 15 lbs. at times.
