The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) plays a key role in the collection and preparation of blood specimens for laboratory analysis while delivering exceptional patient care . This position represents the company in patient-facing interactions, ensuring procedures are performed safely, accurately, and with compassion. The PSR II may rotate across multiple sites as needed and serves as a resource for newer phlebotomy staff.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture, capillary, and specimen collection procedures per established protocolsConduct verification of patient identity and labeling at time of collectionMaintain accurate documentation and specimen integrityProvide a safe, professional, and compassionate patient experienceAdhere to all company and regulatory health and safety standardsTravel to assigned or backup locations as requiredSupport training and mentorship of new staff where neededEnsure compliance with infection control and laboratory standardsCommunicate effectively with patients, peers, and supervisorsRequired Experience
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary drawsAt least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferredProven ability to manage high patient volumes with accuracy and professionalismNice-to-Have Experience
Prior customer service experience in a retail or healthcare environmentExperience supporting multi-site or mobile phlebotomy operationsKnowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and specimen trackingRequired Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalentMedical assistant or paramedic training preferredPhlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory in CA, NV, WA only)Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if traveling between sites)Required Skills
Strong phlebotomy technique with diverse patient populationsExcellent communication and customer service skillsComputer proficiency and data entry accuracyAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionReliable, punctual, and detail-orientedPreferred Skills
