Indirect State Tax Analyst

A Day in the Life :

This role will be responsible for various aspects of indirect state and local tax compliance, including sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect taxes. Additionally, this role will support the preparation of income tax workpapers. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of state and local tax laws and regulations, advanced Excel skills, and experience with large datasets and analytical tools. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance while identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

What You'll be Doing :

• Sales and Use Tax Compliance :

Coordinate with the shared service team and provide guidance on preparation of sales and use tax returns.

Prepare and file property tax returns.

Ensure compliance with other applicable indirect taxes, including gross receipts tax, excise tax, and any industry-specific taxes.

Conduct in-depth research on complex indirect tax issues.

Identify opportunities to streamline indirect tax processes and improve efficiency.

Assist in the preparation of income tax workpapers.

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., accounting, finance, operations) regarding indirect tax matters.
