Precision CNC Machinist & Advanced Programmer

A well-established precision manufacturing firm in the aerospace and defense sector is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented CNC specialist to contribute to our dynamic and growing production team. This position supports the fabrication of high-performance components requiring advanced multi-axis machining and precision programming.
Overview :
This role involves end-to-end machining responsibilitiesfrom initial program creation and machine setup to the final production of complex components. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing highly accurate parts selecting optimal tooling and ensuring all manufacturing processes meet quality safety and documentation standards. Candidates should bring a proactive solutions-oriented mindset and a willingness to wear multiple hats within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Functions :
Develop and execute machining programs for multi-axis equipment using modern CAD / CAM software.
Configure and operate CNC mills and lathes including setup calibration and tool selection.
Translate engineering blueprints and 3D models into precise machining strategies; interpret GD&T specifications confidently.
Apply knowledge of materials and machining principles to work with various metals including specialized and high-strength alloys.
Monitor and optimize subtractive manufacturing workflows from start to finish.
Maintain accurate documentation logs and job travelers.
Support cross-functional tasks and team efforts to meet production deadlines and company goals.
Essential Skills & Qualifications :
U.S. citizenship required due to federal regulatory requirements.
Must be eligible for clearance through a government background screening process.
Minimum of four years experience in a CNC machining and programming role.
Hands-on experience with G-code programming and manual machining.
Strong understanding of feeds speeds and tool coatings across a wide range of materials.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot identify issues and implement practical solutions.
Familiarity with CAM software such as Fusion 360 Mastercam or NX is expected.
Strong math and spatial reasoning skills (geometry trigonometry basic algebra).
Proficient with measurement tools and quality control procedures.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience :
Exposure to advanced manufacturing environments (aerospace defense or similar).
Experience working with challenging materials such as titanium Inconel Hastelloy and high-grade stainless steels.
Familiarity with fixture design CNC offset adjustments and blue light metrology.
Exposure to EDM (especially wire-cutting systems) and additive manufacturing techniques.
Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts cranes).
Working knowledge of 3D printing processes such as LPBF is beneficial.

Compensation : $90000 - $105000 per year salary
