DON : Director of Nursing

Full Time

Pay rate between $85,000-87,000 / year

What will I do as the DON : Director of Nursing with Genacross?

Maintains and implements enhancements to the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and serves as the committee chair. Analyzes community performance metrics, trends, and clinical outcomes; recommends, implements, and monitors process improvement measures.

Unites and collaborates with the Quality Team to develop clinical programs and processes to meet the changing needs of the customers we serve that result in positive outcomes.

Partners with Human Resources in staff attraction and retention efforts, including hiring, on-boarding, coaching and counseling, and performance management.

Ensures delegation of responsibility, authority, and accountability as defined by standards of nursing practice; and provide leadership oversight of the entire community in the absence of the Executive Director.

Ensures staff's training needs are identified and provides necessary training and resources, as needed.

Prepare employee's schedule and insure adequate staffing.

On-call responsibilities for Assisted Living and Health Center.

Implement and maintain infection control for the Health Center.

Oversees the implementation of Genacross Lutheran Services' education and competency training program.

Functions as a liaison between the residents, their families, and staff, responding to inquiries and providing information of nursing care and services. Oversees incident investigations, ensuring immediate resident / staff safety. Ensures the delivery of care. Ensures the appropriate parties are notified as required by Genacross policies and regulatory requirements, and that documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted timely.

Acts as an ambassador of Genacross Lutheran Services to the local communities in which we serve. Participates in internal and external community events and other activities to promote Genacross services.

Assists in the preparation of the nursing department annual budget, with oversight and recommendations provided regarding operating budgets of personnel and medical equipment purchases.

Reports allegations of abuse / neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.

Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager / Supervisor.

Implements and follows disaster plans in the event of an emergency.

DON : Director of Nursing Requirements :

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required; Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Current State of Ohio RN License.

1-3 years of experience as a Director of Nursing or nursing management strongly preferred.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to learn new software application as required by the position.

Requires excellent organizational skills and good judgement skills.

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.

Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly.
