We are eager to welcome a proactive self-starter to our team of principal underwriters. In this role, you will spearhead efforts in Pulp and Paper and Construction, focusing on portfolio analysis, capacity and linesetting, pricing strategies, and the development of underwriting requirements that align with our profit and growth objectives.
Success in this position requires ongoing learning and collaboration with your team, principal engineers, and various corporate staff departments, as well as field teams to research and formulate underwriting procedures.
As a leader, you will guide operations underwriters, ensuring that necessary support is in place and understood prior to implementation. You will also address underwriting exceptions, ensuring consistent application of risk selection and sound underwriting judgment within your designated portfolio.
This role will require 2 to 3 annual operational underwriting audits, developing and presenting underwriting training, and working on new coverages and products tailored to our clients' evolving needs. We value your innovative ideas for continuously enhancing our underwriting processes and systems development.
