Job description

Overview Bowhead Information Technologies Service is seeking a Future Operations (FUOPS) Planner to support our Space Forces – Space customer. Responsibilities

  • Support the S35 Future Operations Division with planning and operational support
  • Coordinate with S5 Campaign Plans to transition at least 4 Joint Space Operations Plans (JSOPs) per year and similar campaign planning to the contingency operations planning cycle in response to adversary-based planning on a 60-days-to-2-year planning cycle and during minimum quarterly exercise events
  • Support joint planning in accordance with Joint Publication 5-0 and support Joint Operations IAW Joint Publication 3-0 series
  • Participate in operational planning teams (OPTs) charged with translating guidance into plans and orders to achieve desired objectives and / or attain a prescribed end state
  • Produce documents including but not limited to, orders, plans, instructions, presentations, papers, and reports for government review and approval
  • Analyze CCMD Plans and S5 support plans to ensure the warfighter is well prepared for future operations against existing and emerging threats
  • Conduct risk / trade-off analysis that will provide an assessment of strategic, operational, and tactical planning options across a diverse and sometimes competing stakeholder community
  • Integrate and synchronize new and delegated plans, strategic concepts, designs, and methodologies, with the USSPACECOM, other CCMD planning staffs at the operational level, and other entities, as required
  • Analyze campaign and contingency plans and continuity of operations (COOP) planning documents, describing the impacts to the warfighter and providing recommendations regarding the impact to the operational echelon
  • Write and staff orders, plans, and instructions in support of operations and exercises
  • Schedule, secure and set up meeting location and / or communications, invite participants, and participate in meetings in order to provide expertise and inform the commander and staff’s decision-making process
  • Support the planning and execution of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Exercises as specified in the PWS in accordance with Joint Publication 5-0 and the Joint Planning Process
  • Exercise execution may require travel and extended workdays up to 12-hour shifts and weekends for a duration of 5-14 consecutive days
  • Attend CCMD-provided training and utilize command-directed tools for the execution of task management
  • Receive on-the-job training of relevant tools as needed (e.g., GAP CIE, Command and Control of the Information Environment (C2IE), and Task Management Tool (TMT)) Qualifications
  • Minimum BA / BS (MA / MS is preferred)
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience initiating and / or developing Government specified content for Combatant Command J35 or Service S35
  • Experience in providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations for mission and program challenges
  • Maintains the specific skills, knowledge, and comprehension to perform all task functions quickly and accurately without supervision or assistance Physical Demands : Must be able to lift up to 25pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically Must currently hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI, SAP and ACCM Eligibility. #LI-DNI MN1
