About the Role :
Seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join our team supporting the State of Indiana Department of Health. The incumbent will coordinate and perform testing for SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A, Influenza B, RSV, and other pathogens of public health concern.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform RNA / DNA extraction and PCR testing.
- Apply molecular and standard laboratory techniques to ensure accurate results.
- Compile, analyze, evaluate, and prepare laboratory reports.
- Maintain laboratory safety practices and follow state and federal regulations.
- Participate in proficiency testing programs and maintain high-quality standards.
- Communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Use specialized laboratory equipment for molecular testing.
- Adapt to changes in duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a biological science.Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.Extensive knowledge of molecular testing principles, theories, and practices.Experience with RNA / DNA extraction and PCR testing is required.Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and state / federal regulations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to maintain productive working relationships in a team environment.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to interview and perform the essential functions of this role.
