This position is responsible for mechanical maintenance on natural gas gathering and processing compression equipment to ensure safe operations and optimize throughput.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Safety first culture including compliance of all associated (company, federal, state and local) regulations and policies.
- Ensure 98% mechanical availability on natural gas compressors.
- Provide technical knowledge and decision-making capabilities to troubleshoot a variety of natural gas engines and compressors.
- Responsible for major overhauls on a variety of engines and compressors.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as the expander, natural gas engines, turbines, compressors, and pumps, which requires medium to heavy lifting. Maintenance includes, but is not limited to :
- Change gauges (temperature, pressure, etc.)
- Remove and replace electric motors and belts
- Remove and replace filters, oils and other lubricating fluids on equipment
- Remove and replace gaskets
- Remove and replace valves
- Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained
- Change out suction / discharge valves on compressors
- Clean out level sight glasses on all vessels
- Change out control valves as needed
- Secure all types of tubing and piping as needed
- Replace fuses
- Approximately 85% outside operations in all types of weather and 25% in office environment filling out paperwork. Also requires entering information into Brightly data base. Creating and closing work orders in Brightly.
- Recording weights and measures (mic readings) of internal components of engine and compressor frames and enter Brightly for historical records.
- Maintains good economic thinking skills while working under tight budgetary demands.
- Continually tracking and updating maintenance schedules related to compression equipment.
- Establishes and maintains a near perfect driving record.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Work assigned shift and be available for overtime if needed.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s license in state of residency.
- Live within 80 miles of reporting location to accommodate call outs.
- Respond to call outs no later than 2 hours from the time the call is sent.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all internal, state and federal regulations.
- Comply with company policies.
- Maintain honest, respectful, and effective internal and external working relationships.
- Complete all training as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of :
Computer usage and Microsoft Office (or comparable) products.HMI software operations.Basic reading and mathematics as applied to equipment maintenance.Accepted safety standards and methods of natural gas pipelines.Pertinent Federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations affecting health and safety.Natural Gas Compression and Driven Equipment experience and understanding.Ability to :
Observe and take remedial action on equipment issues.Read and interpret gauges, equipment logs and specifications.Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Maintain effective working relationships.Deal tactfully and cost-effectively with vendors.EXPERIENCE and TRAINING GUIDELINES
