Job Summary
The Equipment Maintenance Coordinator is an entry-level position for individuals interested in a career in heavy equipment maintenance. This position can lead to rapid career advancement, financial rewards, personal growth, and satisfaction. The Equipment Coordinator position is the first step toward becoming an Equipment Foreman, Equipment Superintendent, or Manager.
Essential Functions
1. Actively participates in the job site safety program. Follow all company guidelines, policies, and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for themselves and others.
2. Manage and maintain the job site equipment records:
3. Schedule lubrication, servicing, and oil samples. Review oil analysis reports and bring potential problems to the attention of the Equipment Superintendent for review. In some cases, it may be acceptable to direct and manage oilers as needed.
4. Be involved in the Daily Visual Inspection Program by doing visuals and tracking the participation of job personnel in completing daily visual inspections.
5. Purchasing- Coordinate the purchase of parts for use in repairing our equipment fleet. Ensure the purchase order is properly issued and all parts are properly coded to the correct account and work order for accurate cost tracking. Return any unused parts to the vendor and follow up to ensure proper credit is issued promptly.
6. Schedule transportation as directed to move equipment as well as track and report all equipment arrivals, departures, and on/off rent events to the area equipment maintenance team. Also, expedite the shipping of equipment records and manuals for equipment moved off-site.
7. Check timecards for correct coding and adjust as needed.
8. Compare actual time for repairs against time requirement guides.
9. Develop repair estimates with the assistance of the Equipment Supervisors for work that exceeds scheduled shift man-hours.
10. Develop equipment utilization reports.
11. Update maintenance assignment sheets.
12. Be exposed to ongoing repairs to become familiar with troubleshooting and repair procedures to prepare for the hands-on mechanic experience.
13. Each individual should be exposed to all aspects of the Equipment Management Module in SAP to prepare for additional job responsibilities in the future.
