We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a passion for helping others, particularly in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
- Take and develop medical imaging as needed, including X-rays.
- Manage patient records accurately using Epic systems, ensuring all medical records are up to date.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Support the administrative team with tasks related to patient intake and insurance verification as necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with knowledge of dental terminology essential.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and infection control standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
