What Youll Do
The Mathematics Regional Coach reports to an assigned Mathematics Regional Director and serve under the leadership of the Program Director in the Bureau of Standards and Instructional Support at Florida Department of Education. This position is intended to support and reinforce standards implementation, provide sustained professional learning, and contribute to the success of Florida's students.
Mathematics Regional Coach must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and high performance.
Day-to-day, youll be responsible for :
Actively participate in professional learning that fosters personal and professional growth pertinent to both best practices in mathematics education and academic coaching.
Collect, analyze, and report data to be used for grant reporting. This includes the submission of grant documentation related to current mathematics grant activities.
Collect and analyze student performance data to inform mathematics support. Mathematics support includes at a minimum the development and implementation of statewide professional learning, regional workshops, district and school site support, and one-to-one classroom coaching.
Develop work plans that outline objectives and expectations related to high quality K-12 mathematics instructional support.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of new and existing Florida statutes, rules, legislation, courses and standards that impact mathematics education.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Who Were Looking For
Were seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have :
A bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Mathematics Education, or a related field is required.
A minimum of (3) years of teaching experience.
Candidates must have experience in analyzing and using student achievement data to inform instruction.
Preference will be given to candidates with a current teacher certificate in one of the following Elementary Education, Mathematics 5-9 or Mathematics 6-12, and experience designing and implementing professional learning specific to classroom instruction.
This position requires work-related travel.
