Forklift Operator

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. The role requires proficiency in operating a multi-directional forklift, strong spatial awareness, and the ability to manage and secure loads safely. You will play a critical role in maintaining safety standards and ensuring smooth operations within our manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a multi-directional forklift with expertise, maneuvering through tight spaces.
  • Secure and balance loads effectively to prevent tipping and ensure safe transport.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks of accidents and injuries.
  • Handle materials with precision and follow instructions to avoid errors and damage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate movements and ensure efficient operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks to keep the forklift in optimal condition.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in forklift operation, particularly in multi-directional maneuvering.
  • Strong spatial awareness for navigating narrow aisles and confined spaces.
  • Experience in load management and safety compliance.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Basic computer navigation skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to undergo training if necessary.

    Work Environment

    This role operates within a manufacturing environment focused on label production. Expect an environment with strong odors, which most employees acclimate to quickly. The position follows a 2-3-2 schedule with both day and night shifts, offering a balanced work-life structure. Initial training occurs Monday through Friday for about a month, followed by further training on a set shift. Outside of training, employees do not rotate between shifts.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scottsburg, IN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
