Mitchell Hamline School of Law is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist. This position will be the first point of contact for HR inquiries, including managing the HR email inbox, providing support in recruitment, HRIS data management, time entry, employee file management, onboarding and offboarding, Federal I-9 completion, data requests, student employment coordination and office support. This role requires a service-oriented approach, strong communication skills, and experience in HR. The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring efficient HR operations while promoting a positive workplace culture. The Senior HR Generalist will be under the limited supervision of the Senior HR Business Partner. This position is expected to work on campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
HRIS Data Management :
- Primarily responsible for data in the HRIS. May respond to data requests as needed.
- Create standard and ad hoc reports as requested utilizing appropriate tools and resources.
- Maintain confidential department files to include employment, labor, worker's compensation, unemployment compensation, compensation, and benefits files.
- Maintain tuition reimbursement files and ensure timely processing of reimbursements for successful completion of course work.
- Responsible for payroll inquiries and troubleshooting payroll errors.
- Maintains digital and physical employee files. Support the implementation and ongoing management of performance appraisal systems.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and School policies, including Title IX, ADA, FMLA, and EEO.
Generalist duties :
Administer and support recruitment processes including job postings, interviewing, and selection guidance for various roles across the School.Manage new hire orientation, I-9, and onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration into the School.Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.Respond to leave and benefits inquiries. May assist with open enrollment and benefits reconciliations.Manage supplies, department ordering, entering invoices and budget tracking.Manage offboarding.Other duties as assigned.This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related fields.5+ years of experience in Human Resources at a Generalist level or higher; or a combination of related education and experience.3+ years of experience entering data and running reports in an HRIS system.Experience in Microsoft Office.Preferred Qualifications :
Additional years of experience as a HR Generalist or higher.Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred.Experience in Paycom, UKG or similar HRIS systems.Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).Pay Range
The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year.
