Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

MaineGeneral is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Same Day Surgery Unit at the Thayer Center for Health. We encourage you to apply if you are a dedicated professional with a passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence.

The Role : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

As a CNA in Same Day Surgery, you will play a vital role in assisting patients as they recover from anesthesia following surgical procedures.

Position Highlights :

Monday - Friday schedule
No on-call requirements

What You'll Do :

Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice. Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.

Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.

Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.

What You Need :

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.

Previous experience in PACU, surgical, or acute care setting is preferred.

Strong understanding of post-operative care and monitoring.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Compassionate and patient-focused with a strong attention to detail.

Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40
