VP of Food Safety & Quality

GPAC has partnered with a leading  sustainable food producer  is seeking an experienced  Vice President of Food Safety & Quality  to oversee all aspects of quality systems, food safety compliance, and product integrity across a diverse national supply chain. This is a confidential leadership opportunity with a mission-driven organization known for its commitment to animal welfare, people, and the planet. This executive will set the vision and strategy for food safety and quality programs spanning from farm to finished product. The VP will guide quality policy, certification programs, and regulatory compliance across multiple facilities and co-manufacturers, ensuring excellence in product performance and consumer trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead enterprise-wide quality and food safety programs, policies, and standards
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across 70+ co-manufacturing partners and 1,400 SKUs
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all products meet company and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, organic certification)
• Build and lead a collaborative quality culture throughout the organization
• Oversee quality audits, vendor performance, and certification compliance
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of quality and regulatory professionals
• Participate in strategic customer and supplier negotiations
• What You Bring
• 10+ years in  dairy or organic food manufacturing  (required)
• Advanced degree  (Master’s required; PhD preferred)  in Food Science or related field
• Proven track record of leadership in  food safety, regulatory compliance, and QA management
• Strong strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities
• Experience managing multi-site or co-manufacturing environments
• Ability to travel up to 25%
