Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide speech-language pathology services for students preschool through age 22 with moderate / severe disabilities. Responsibilities include assessments, report and IEP writing, direct therapy, consult, progress reports, materials preparation, AAC support, supporting SLPA and / or paraeducator staff, and other items as needed.
- Duties
- Provides speech therapy services, individually or in small groups, designed to address speech and language goals for students in grades Pre-K-12.
- Attends related IEPs and planning meetings for individual students, providing expertise as needed in the area of speech and language disorders, as well as input on student performance and recommendations for the interventions in the area of speech and language development.
- Completes required student documentation, assessments, progress reports, and evaluations following State and federal guidelines in order to develop legally compliant evaluation reports and IEPs.
- Consults with teachers and parents regarding typical speech / language development (including hearing, voice, and fluency), classroom modifications and / or accommodations, and assists in the referral process if necessary.
- Communicate with and assist SLPAs and para educator(s).
- Provides assistance in total communication : sign language, AAC, and other non-verbal forms of communications.
- Participates as an IEP, 504, or SST team member and follows the IEP, SST, or 504 plans, provides the appropriate support and works with the case carriers, counselors, and coordinators to develop the best program for identified students.
- Participating in required school and district-sponsored professional development activities.
- Develops and maintains caseload for Medi-Cal billing, scans and uploads data monitoring to online billing service.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by YCOE and / or appropriate professional growth activities through attendance to speech language pathology related conferences and workshops.
- Qualifications
- Master's degree in the Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders field.
- Possession of a valid Clinical or Rehabilitative Services or Speech Language Pathology Services credential from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
- Possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred.
- Experience as a Speech / Language Pathologist in an educational setting preferred.
- Valid California Driver's License with proof of automobile liability insurance.
- Valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services or Speech Language Pathology Services credential
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent Certificate
