Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting and month-end close processes for a diverse portfolio of retail properties. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining strong internal controls.

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will supervise a portion of the accounting team and collaborate across departments to manage owner distributions, capital project funding, and compliance with GAAP standards. This is a high-impact role that offers visibility, leadership opportunities, and the chance to shape financial operations in a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve monthly financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage full-cycle financial reporting for a portfolio of retail assets.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Ensure timely delivery of financial reports and enforce internal deadlines.
• Oversee monthly owner distributions and monitor cash flow for capital expenditures.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an accounting emphasis.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
• Experience with MRI and YARDI accounting software preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proven leadership capabilities and ability to manage and develop team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
