The Radiologic Technologist provides professional patient care under physician supervision. Primarily responsible for critique and performance of quality diagnostic imaging in an orthopedic setting; Completion of all examinations, documentation and accurately identifying all charges associated with studies.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
High school degree or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree preferred but not requiredGraduate of an accredited Radiologic technologist training programAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologist registrationLicensure and / or certification as required by the State of North CarolinaKnowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform procedures including body mechanics and patient movementKnowledge of safety hazards and contraindications for patients and all visitors within the facilityCurrent CPR CertificationAbility to communicate clearlyExcellent documentation skillsResponsibilities include but are not limited to, the following
Obtain and document patient medical history including the reason for the visit and any other pertinent information related to treatment prior to physician examPosition radiographic equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient's bodyAdjust controls on the x-ray machine to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail, and contrast of the body partPerform all diagnostic x-rays as indicated by physician and APPPrepares medical record information, including x-ray films for physician review before physician examMaintains compliance with infection control policies and proceduresPerforms patient education when appropriate including oral and written education related to diagnosis, procedures, and / or medicationsReplenishes supplies-cleans exam room after each patient per infection control guidelines and stocks exam room at end of each dayCommunicates supply shortages as well as other clinical needs to Clinical Manager or designeeEnsures that laboratory and other diagnostic test results are obtained and communicated to physicians to ensure appropriate and timely physician intervention. All pending results are obtained prior to the patient's next clinic visitEnsures all documentation and charges associated with studies accurately reflect the patient encounter and plan of careOther Responsibilities
Follows all applicable department and practice policies and proceduresMaintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practiceMaintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functionsComputer input of patient informationParticipates in mandatory staff functions as directed by the Clinical manager (may include overtime)Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assignedMaintains a pleasant and cooperative demeanor while performing all dutiesMaintains compliance with continuing education requirements to maintain current certifications, licensure, etc.From the mountains to the coast, EmergeOrtho is North Carolina's premier provider, recognized for offering world-class, comprehensive, and compassionate care serving patients with 60 locations in 28 counties.
