Job Title : Microbiology Lab Technician Location : Golden Valley, MN Hours / Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 am to 4 pm Type : Contract Overview The Lab Technician performs microbiological analyses on food products to support internal and external testing needs. This role focuses on accurate sample processing, data documentation, and timely delivery of results. It requires strong technical execution, attention to detail, and the ability to organize workload in a dynamic laboratory environment. Responsibilities Perform microbiological testing on food samples using established analytical methods. Coordinate and execute daily sample analyses across multiple product sources. Document results accurately and review data for completeness and integrity. Investigate technical discrepancies and support timely resolution. Maintain a safe laboratory environment in compliance with applicable safety protocols. Build proficiency in relevant analytical methods and laboratory procedures. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications B.S. in microbiology, food science, biology, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in food microbiology. Proficiency with aseptic technique, pipetting, and serial dilutions. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience in laboratory operations. Experience working in an ISO 17025–accredited microbiology lab. Experience contributing to decision-making or team leadership. Additional Considerations Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong documentation and workload-organization skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and LIMS. Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and schedules.
