Bowling Center Maintenance Position

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Bowling Center at Sheppard AFB, TX. Responsibilities include cleaning, oiling, and polishing the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards. The role also involves sweeping, dusting, and cleaning other areas of the bowling facility, collecting and removing trash, and maintaining all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Additionally, the position requires hand sanding and varnishing minor flaws in lanes until the surface can be conditioned. Minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery and periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment are also part of the duties. The role involves maintaining stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. The incumbent advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems and performs other related duties as assigned. Physical effort is required in frequent lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in using heavy hand tools and operating equipment. The working conditions are indoors in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries, and caution is needed in working with moving parts during equipment operation.
