Job Title : Shipping Specialist
Summary :
We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Shipping Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, blending hands-on skills with robust computer proficiency. This role involves accurate order fulfillment, pallet building, and quality finishing, including painting parts with a spray gun—while utilizing ERP software, Excel, and Outlook. In addition, you will be required to operate forklifts and cranes to move materials safely. Your ability to think critically and collaborate effectively will be key to our shipping operations. Some college education is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Preparation & Shipping :
- Assemble, build, and secure pallets to ensure safe transportation.
- Prepare, package, and label shipments following company standards.
- ERP & Data Management :
- Utilize ERP software to manage order processing, track inventory, and generate shipping documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and update spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Communicate internally and externally via Microsoft Outlook, to provide timely updates on order statuses.
- Quality Control & Finishing :
- Apply paint to parts using a spray gun, ensuring consistency and high-quality finishes.
- Inspect finished products and outgoing shipments for defects or discrepancies.
- Equipment Operation :
- Operate forklifts and cranes to move heavy materials safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Problem Solving & Process Improvement :
- Apply critical thinking skills to troubleshoot logistical challenges and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Provide feedback to management on processes that could benefit from enhanced efficiency or safety measures.
- Team Collaboration :
- Work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure cohesive operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Contribute to a supportive work culture that values open communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
Education :High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework is preferred.Technical Skills :Proficiency with computers, including strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.Experience with ERP software systems.Hands-On Skills :Proficiency in building and assembling pallets.Ability to safely operate and manage a spray gun for painting parts.Qualified and experienced in operating various types of forklifts.
